Open Access and Licensing
AI Med is a fully open-access journal. Published articles are made available under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International), unless an approved article-level exception is stated. Authors retain copyright.
Immediate Open Access
AI Med makes published articles freely available online immediately upon publication. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and otherwise use published content subject to the applicable licence and law.
Licence
Unless an article page states an approved exception, articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Reuse must provide appropriate credit, identify the source, link to the licence, and indicate whether changes were made.
Copyright and Author Rights
Authors retain copyright in their work. Authors grant AI Med and AI Press Limited the right to publish, disseminate, archive the version of record, and identify the journal as the original publisher.
Article Processing Charges
For manuscripts accepted on or before 31 December 2027, the APC is fully waived. For manuscripts accepted on or after 1 January 2028, the stated APC is USD 800. Submission, page, colour, withdrawal, and language-editing fees are not charged. Charges and waivers do not affect editorial decisions.
Self-Archiving
Authors may share the published version on personal websites and in institutional or subject repositories. Shared copies should preserve the article citation, DOI, licence, and a link to the canonical AI Med article page.
Metadata and Preservation
AI Med provides article landing pages, abstracts, references, licence information, and PDF access for public discovery. The journal does not claim participation in a third-party preservation service unless that participation has been publicly confirmed.
