Complaints and Appeals

AI Med complaints and appeals policy for authors, reviewers, and readers.

Complaints about editorial decisions, peer review, publication ethics, or service should be submitted with enough information for a fair and timely review. The journal records the concern, acknowledges it where possible, and routes it to an independent editor or responsible contact when recusal is needed.

Submitting a Concern

A complaint or appeal should identify the article or manuscript where relevant, describe the concern, provide supporting information, and state the requested review. Editorial decisions, peer review, publication ethics, and service concerns may be raised through the published journal contact.

Fair Review and Recusal

The journal records and assesses concerns in a timely manner. A matter involving a conflict of interest is referred to an independent editor or responsible contact. A complaint does not automatically change an editorial or publication decision.

Outcomes

Depending on the evidence, the journal may explain a decision, request clarification, correct a process error, investigate publication-ethics concerns, or take a proportionate editorial action. The privacy and confidentiality of the parties are respected as far as the review permits.
