Research involving people, human data, or human material must comply with applicable laws and institutional standards. Manuscripts must state the approving ethics body and reference number, or explain a verified exemption where approval was not required.

Consent and Privacy

Authors must obtain informed consent where required, protect participant confidentiality, and avoid publishing identifying information unless explicit publication consent has been obtained. Consent and ethics statements should be included in the manuscript where applicable.

Animal Research

Research involving animals must follow applicable welfare requirements and identify the approving body or a verified exemption. Authors should report the measures taken to minimise harm and provide enough information for ethical assessment.
